What happens after FCA Camps?

Mary Moon • July 30, 2024

We're ready to spring into our post-camp season!

The shirts and gear are packed up, the volunteers and staff head home, and we all take at least 3-4 days to recover from each FCA Camp. :) But for our FCA missionaries, the work is just beginning!

We say, "Camps are a springboard for ministry."  So where do we spring? What happens when FCA Camps are over?

Our FCA mission is to see the world transformed by Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes. Our FCA vision is to lead every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church.

After camp season, East GA FCA accomplishes our mission and vision by pursuing our E3 Discipleship strategy (read more about our strategy here). This year, we will work towards the following goals:

Goal #1 - We want every coach or athlete to find a church home.

Our missionaries make our coaches aware of the coaches and/or athletes who indicated during camp they would like help finding a church home. We will also personally reach out to the athletes or coaches who indicated during camp that they would like help finding a church home.

Goal #2 - We want every coach and athlete to grow in their walk with Christ.

One way we help accomplish this is to give every coach and athlete in the East GA FCA area access to tools to grow personally and through an FCA Huddle. We do this by:

Helping our coaches and athletes create and lead Team Huddles.

Helping our coaches get plugged into a Coach’s Huddle.

Helping our coaches and athletes disciple other coaches and athletes.

Resourcing our coaches and athletes with Bibles, devotion  books, and daily reminders to grow in their own quiet time.

You could be a vital part of discipling our local coaches and athletes by serving as an Adult Volunteer with FCA! Shoot us an email to learn more - mmoon@fca.org!

I recently shared a pic on Facebook that asked, "Has anyone tried unplugging 2020 and plugging it back in?" We have certainly seen a crazy start to 2020 across our region and world! In the past week alone, our coaches and athletes, along with the rest of our country, have woken up to major changes. I'm sure you understand the feeling of decisions being made that impact you that you have no control over. Our athletes and coaches are no different. To name just a few...our Seniors...
